EEAS & EUNIC EU National Institutes for culture
EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture – is the European network of organisations engaging in cultural relations. EUNIC counts currently 36 members and is present in more than 90 countries worldwide with a network of over 120 clusters. EUNIC is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the EU.
EUNIC advocates a prominent role of culture in international relations and is a strategic partner of the EU, actively involved in the further definition of European cultural policy.
EUNIC is actively collaborating with the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the EU Delegations worldwide. This cooperation is based on various frameworks for action:
- Joint Guidelines on the partnership between EUNIC, the EEAS and the European Commission (2019) provides a practical framework to strengthen the partnership between the EU and EUNIC.
- Report on the current state of partnership between EUNIC clusters and EU Delegations (2018) details the current state of the partnerships between fourteen EU Delegations and EUNIC Clusters across the globe.
