Georgia Nicolau was a participant in the 2017 edition of the Global Cultural Leadership Programme.

Georgia Nicolau is the co-founder and director of programs of Instituto Procomum since 2016 and a specialist consultant in projects of cultural cooperation, social and citizen innovation, cultural policy and culture and development.  She was deputy secretary of Creative Economy and Cultural Policy and Director of Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Ministry of Culture of Brazil from 2013 to 2016. In 2013, she was selected for a scholarship from the german Alexander Rave Foundation and was part of the innovation team of the biggest german festival of art and technology, transmediale. Since 2013 she is part of the Global Innovation Gathering Network, which brings together innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world, focusing on the global south, where she is also part of the supervisory board. In 2017 she was selected as a global cultural leader by the European Union. She is also fellow of the brazilian Lemann Foundation for social change and a trained facilitator.
