Rocío Rojas Monsalve 

Rocío Rojas Monsalve is a Chilean musical director, composer, and researcher specializing in cultural diplomacy and peacebuilding. She has participated in over 50 diplomatic missions, collaborating with the Chilean government and UNESCO to foster a culture of peace by enhancing diplomatic, artistic, and cultural connections worldwide. In 2017, she was awarded by CIOFF-UNESCO in Venice for her musical achievements. In 2024, she became the first Chilean musician to perform at the United Nations Youth Forum, promoting peace through music. Her work on the music of indigenous communities in southern Chile aims to merge folk and classical music for cross-cultural understanding. For over a decade, she has focused her research on transpacific cultural exchanges through folk music, linking the cultures of Asia and Latin America. She is also the creator of the “Chilean Soundmap” series at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard University, bringing the traditional music of the southernmost part of the world to global audiences.
