Kate McGrath

Kate is a creative facilitator, studio consultant and Artist born in Australia. She has spent most of the past decade working with Indigenous Art Centres, supporting artists in some of the most remote communities of the central western desert region. Driven by a strong belief in the power of art making to contribute to the healing and peace of the individual, local and international community, Kate has recently been collaborating with artists in Timor Leste. She continues to deepen her experience, share her practical skills and explore the intersections between traditional crafts and contemporary practices both domestically and abroad. In her own art making, Kate uses a meditative and instinctual approach to painting which explores various ideas and emotions. Abstract landscapes that merge the inner and outer worlds, inspired by the patterns and powers of nature.
