Lisa Thelma Sidambe, GCRP 2022

Lisa is a Mandela Rhodes Scholar, a Canon Collins Scholar, a Beit Scholar, and a Sir John Monash Medallist who currently is pursuing a PhD in Political Studies. She is Nhimbe Trust’s Programme Officer, specializing in cultural governance and democratization. She has worked with Freemuse as a researcher, reporting on the state of artistic freedom in Anglophone Africa. She has been part of Zimbabwe’s national teams tasked with developing the country’s music strategy and the 2005 UNESCO Convention 2020 QPR country report. Notable projects she has coordinated include Artistic Freedom Election Monitoring, a UPR report on Zimbabwe and a policy brief calling for an AU Declaration on Cultural Rights.
