ACP-EU Culture Programme

Implemented by the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States and funded by the European Union, the « ACP-EU towards a viable cultural industry » programme intends to boost the potential of the cultural and creative sector and its contribution to the social and economic development of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries.

Main objectives are:

  • Encourage entrepreneurship, cultural innovation, and participation of the youth
  • Create new jobs and increasing artists’ and cultural professionals’ revenues
  • Raise the quality of the ACP cultural productions,
  • Valorize the cultural productions and artists from the ACP countries on international markets.

Implementation: 2019-2024

Budget: 40 million €

The programme is supporting the culture sector through 3 calls for proposals in the sectors of audiovisual coproduction, culture and creation in the ACP countries.

ACP-EU Culture is also managing the platform culturexchange.eu, a web-based platform enabling culture professionals from ACP countries to meet, network, and exchange.

The project Créer en Afrique Centrale: Support to the Cultural and Creative Sectors is one of the supported projects by the ACP-EU Culture.

It aims to support the cultural and creative industries (CCI) and targets 8 countries in the Central African region: Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, São Tomé and Principe and the Chad.

The project is implemented by InterartsCulture et Dévelopment, the Economic Community of Central African States, and the Institut National des Arts in Kinshasa.
