
Implemented by the Secretariat of the ACP Group of States and funded by the European Union, the « ACP-EU towards a viable cultural industry » programme intends to boost the potential of the cultural and creative sector and its contribution to the social and economic development of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. The programme runs from 2019 to 2024.
Main objectives are:
- Encourage entrepreneurship and cultural innovation, as well as the participation of the youth
- Create new jobs and increasing artists’ and cultural professionals’ revenues
- Raise the quality of the ACP cultural productions,
- Valorize the cultural productions and artists from the ACP countries on international markets.

Call for Proposals 1 – Support for ACP Audiovisual Co-production
In April 2019, the ACP-EU Culture Programme published its first call for projects to support the development of the audiovisual sector in ACP countries. It aimed at improving the creation and production of audiovisual works in ACP countries through better access to existing co-production fund.
3 grants were awarded for a total budget of €5,850,000. Beneficiaries were requested to devote at least 80% of the grant amount to financial support to third parties, through calls for audiovisual co-production projects published at least once a year.
The 3 co-production funds are:
- World Cinema Fund ACP implemented by Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin (KBB) GmbH
- Clap ACP-Fund implemented by Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie
- DEENTAL Fund implemented by Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée
