Yasuhiro (Yasu) Sekiya

Yasuhiro Sekiya is a planning coordination officer of ICOM Kyoto Office and a senior officer at the Kyoto National Museum. With a MA degree in Cultural and Creative Industries at King’s College London, he was a chief business development officer at the Tokyo National Museum and a lecturer at the Obirin University, Japan. Accumulating 15 years of museum career and experienced in academics, he has experienced in exhibition coordination, evaluation, financial analysis, event coordination and also fundraising and membership management. At the same time, he did research works about audience development in museums for a couple of years around the world. Through the research, we worked at Asian Art Museum of San Francisco in 2017 for a year as a visiting researcher. Current his interest is in museum communication with people, especially new approaches to new people.
