Ana Lemmer

Ana Lemmer is is an arts & culture professional currently operating from Gauteng, South Africa. For the past decade, Ana’s work concentrated on the promotion and  improvement of access and inclusion in the arts; working with artists, organizations and festivals locally and abroad to become open to artists with mixed abilities as well as diverse experiences and access to the arts. In parallel, Ana spent her career exploring the function of the arts in advancing sustainable development objectives in other sectors namely: tourism, agricultural, health and conservation. She has filled several senior project lead capacities in international development (Fairtrade International) and currently works within the context of cultural and heritage consumption and trade as it plays out within the fields of tourism development and conservation (Fair Trade Tourism). Ana holds a Masters of Philosophy in Cultural Tourism and Heritage Studies – specializing in the role of culture in urban & regional development. No stranger to managing the business side of the arts, she also completed a Business Leadership programme with The Louie Group in partnership with the Business and Management Schools of the Universities of Stellenbosch and Oxford, United Kingdom. Having varied experience of the role cultural relations and policy play in furthering social economic development; Ana is interested in the ways in which national cultural policies can be impacted by the dynamics of international cultural diplomacy efforts.
