Maria Drabczyk was a participant in the 2017 edition of the Global Cultural Leadership Programme.

Maria is advisor to the director, and project manager at the Polish National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute. She oversees international cooperation, mostly focused on access and creative re-use of digital heritage for research, educational or artistic purposes. Maria has been a board member of the EUscreen Foundation, a pan-European, independent, inclusive network, supporting durable and contextualised access to Europe’s audiovisual heritage since 2016. Prior to her current position, she acted as co-creator of a crowdfunding site for culture Wspieramkulture.pl and worked as an international relations expert at the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Maria is a sociologist by training and a practitioner in cultural diplomacy by choice.

“GCLP 2017 gave us the opportunity to challenge ourselves, to discuss and question our work and attitude towards international cultural relations we aim to build and sustain. It made me get out of my European bubble and think globally, open myself up to unknown or simply different, wider perspectives. And last, but definitely not least, it brought me together with a group of amazing people from closer and from far, all experts in different fields, all willing to share their experience with me.”

In order to introduce themselves and their organizations, the participants prepared a poster.
