Merja Briñón, GCLP 2016
Merja Briñón was a participant of the 1st Edition of the Global Cultural Leadership Programme.
Merja Briñón is an arts manager and visual artist living and working in Helsinki, Finland and Madrid, Spain. At the moment she works as an executive director at Helsinki Artists’ Association (HAA). HAA promotes contemporary artists by producing international projects, building partnerships and networks, and by running two galleries, art lending services and art school in Helsinki. Earlier Briñón has worked as an executive and artistic director at KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre and Art Ii Biennial, as a regional artist at Arts Promotion Centre Finland and as an arts manager at Artists’ Association of Lapland. She has made master’s degree in arts management at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
