EU Council policy debate on international cultural relations

The development of an EU strategic approach in international cultural relations has become for quite sometime now a priority for the Council of the EU. On 22 November 2016, ministers discussed how the EU and its member states can cooperate effectively to bring about a more strategic and global approach in this field, in the framework of the Joint Communication “Towards an EU Strategy for international cultural relations”.
