EU Council conclusions on Culture in External Relations
On 23 November 2015, the Council of the EU adopted conclusions on the importance of a more comprehensive approach to culture, based on global solidarity. They called on the Commission and the High Representative to submit to the Council a strategic approach to culture and set out some guiding principles. The Council stressed that this approach should also address the challenges currently facing the EU such as the migratory crisis, radicalisation and the rise of xenophobia.
